A tad about your Northern Colorado Art Advocate:
As public school, art teacher, Karen learned that art is as important as math. Children could have success in art, and feel "worthy" with a sense of accomplishment by completing projects. They could also make creative choices that were theirs entirely. The talent she was privy to in the public schools was breathtaking. Her realization that art was often an "opening or pouring out of one's soul" stressed its importance. Where ordinary classes lent subject matter, art lent expression. Creating art as an adult is freedom, joy, peacefulness and enrichment! As far as experience, Karen Mary taught advanced drawing, advanced sculpture, pottery/ceramics, and air-brush in the public schools of Texas & Colorado for over 20 years. Privately, through the City of Longmont's Recreation Classes, at the Old Firehouse Station in Longmont, Co., Currently, Karen is the art director for the Rist Canyon, Richard Schmid Summer Art Auction of 2014. She currently instructs at The Abbey at St Walburga, and in her home. Karen's classes are brushed with humor, instruction, a care-free and very encouraging environment, and a non-judgmental way an art class should be. They are instructional, yet most of all enjoyable! If you need a therapeutic/creative outlet, or are an artist who can't find the time to set aside to create, then her offered classes just may be right for you!
Karen is currently working on two large projects to benefit the artist in Northern Colorado.

Karen's small fee each month gets your classes out to over 1,500 artists weekly through Facebook, Linkedin, this Website and Twitter!
